Privacy Policy
Table of Contents
1. Overview
CodeMe ("we", "the app") is designed to respect your privacy. This policy explains how we handle information when you use the app on iPhone and iPad.
The core principle: your notes, clipboard content, and categories stay on your device. We don't see their content and we don't store them on our servers.
2. Data We Collect
2.1 On your device (never leaves it)
- Notes (title and content)
- Categories and favorites
- Clipboard history (text and images)
- Attachments: images, video, audio, PDFs
- Language and appearance preferences
- Per-note usage counter
2.2 Anonymous analytics
We collect aggregate usage statistics to improve the app:
- Copy and add events (without content)
- Most-used features
- Device type and iOS version
- Selected language
- Whether the user is on Premium
This data does not contain the content of your notes and is not linked to your personal identity.
3. Where Your Data Is Stored
All your data (notes, categories, clipboard, attachments) is stored in a local database on your device using SwiftData. It then syncs automatically through your own iCloud if you have sync enabled.
iCloud matters: sync happens between your devices only, through your Apple account. We have no access to your iCloud account.
4. Analytics (Firebase)
We use Google's Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics to improve the app. These services collect:
- Usage events (e.g., copied, note created) β without content
- Crash reports (to fix issues)
- Technical device information

5. Device Permissions
The app may request the following permissions, all of which are optional:
Notifications
To send reminders for notes you've set alerts on. Completely optional.
Photo Library
For reading (attach images to notes) and writing (save clipboard images to your library).
Microphone
To record voice notes. Audio never leaves the app or is uploaded.
Camera
To capture photos to attach to notes. Optional.
Keyboard β Full Access
The CodeMe keyboard needs "Full Access" only to read your notes from the shared local database. It does not send any keystrokes to any server.
6. Third Parties
- Apple iCloud: for syncing between your devices
- Apple StoreKit: to process subscriptions
- Google Firebase: for analytics and crash reporting
We do not sell or share your data with any third party for marketing.
7. Your Rights
- Access: all your data is available to you in the app
- Deletion: delete any note, category, or the entire app at any time
- Export: coming soon β feature to export your data
- Opt out of analytics: you can disable it from iPhone Settings
